Those f*cking Italian trains...

oh germany, how we miss your rules, your timetables and your reclining seats...your trains symbolize perfected punctuality. what the italians make up for in beauty, they lack in train consistency. no reclining seats, no first class distinction... and that is how we roll! we stood for two hours with 30 mexican tourists singing festive native songs, crammed into a tiny space with no ventilation. good times! unfortunately the worst part of our day had already happened, when our train caught on fire that morning and smoke poured into the windows. no one seemed that alarmed and we were simply moved down to second class...oh the horror! nevertheless, after traveling for nine hours and four connections, we arrived in cinque terre in the town of riomaggiore...what a seaside sanctuary it is!
